The OrangeTask module provides a robust ticketing system that is fully integrated with OrangeCRM and is dedicated to the timely processing of all business tasks, customer issues, projects and service requests. When a new user is created in OrangeCRM, a duplicate user with the same username and password is automatically created in OrangeTask. However, this does not mean that new users instantly have access to OrangeTask. The Security Roles for each new user must be assigned from within OrangeTask before the user will be activated.

There are two ways in which a new OrangeTask user can be assigned their Security Roles, either in an automated fashion or manually. Please continue reading for details on both of these options.

To save time and eliminate the need to manually add Security Role assignments to each new user, simply create Security Profiles in OrangeTask that are named exactly the same as the Security Profiles assigned to users within OrangeCRM. See the example pictured below.

When a new user is created, OrangeTask looks for an OrangeCRM Security Profile name that matches one of its own Security Profile names. If it finds a match, all of the Security Roles that belong to the matching Security Profile will automatically be assigned to the OrangeTask user. This in turn changes the user’s status from New to Active, granting them access to OrangeTask.

If OrangeTask doesn’t find a matching Security Profile, the user will remain in New status until an administrator manually assigns their Security Roles. While in New status, users will not have access to OrangeTask.

To assign Security Roles manually, navigate to OrangeCRM -> Tasks menu -> OrangeTask -> Home menu -> User Security. Then select New from the Status drop down list, as shown below.

This is where you will find a listing of all users that have been created, but do not have any Security Role assignments. Once they have been assigned Security Roles, users in New status will move into Active status and will then have access to OrangeTask.
