Speed Up Transaction Processing Times in OrangeCRM

OrangeCRM Batch Jobs are operations that are scheduled to run behind the scenes to accomplish a multitude of functions in an automated fashion.

Among the various types of Batch Jobs are Merchant Bank jobs, which batch together all qualifying transactions and sends them to the selected Gateway for processing. Merchants with a high number of banks and/or transactions may find that their batch jobs are taking too long to process.

A simple way to minimize transaction processing times is to schedule Merchant Bank jobs to run at night, when other CRM activity is very low. Additionally, you can free up your job queues during that time frame by using the Blackout Time feature to temporarily suspend any Batch Jobs that run frequently throughout the day, such as every hour or more often.

Blackout Time settings can be configured within the Advanced Scheduling tab of a Batch Job.

Why Can’t a User Access the Reporting Module, OrangeBI?

Although OrangeCRM usernames and passwords are automatically copied to OrangeBI (Business Intelligence), not all users will instantly have access to reporting. The most common reason for denied access to reports is due to the user not having been assigned OrangeBI User Security Roles. OrangeBI uses a unique set of Roles, which are different than those used in OrangeCRM. For that reason, OrangeBI User Roles must be managed separately.

Since role assignments are required for access, and because not all users will meet the requirements for having an OrangeBI Security Profile automatically assigned, some users will require manual Security Role/Profile assignments by a system admin in order for report access to be granted. For instructions, please visit the OrangeCRM Help Guide at and navigate to the “Reports” book >How to Manage Report Users.

Time Saving Tip: Take advantage of OrangeBI’s automatic User Role assignment feature. The following two requirements must be met:

  1. The User must have an OrangeCRM Security Profile assignment
  2. A matching OrangeBI Security Profile must exist

When a new user is created, OrangeBI looks for an OrangeCRM Security Profile that matches one of its own Security Profiles. If it finds a match, all of the Roles that belong to the matching OrangeBI Security Profile will automatically be assigned to the user. This in turn changes the OrangeBI user’s status from New to Active, granting them instant access to reporting.

Google Chrome Connection Warning

Are you getting the Identity Not Verified message when you access OrangeCRM using Google’s Chrome browser? Don’t be alarmed, the link is still secure and encrypted. Please read on to find out the reason for this warning message.

Google Chrome Connection Warning

You may have noticed that you don’t get this message when using a different browser. This is because Google has withdrawn its support for the SHA-1 certificate signatures, while other browsers continue to support SHA-1-based signatures and will continue to do so until 2016.

Since OrangeCRM uses SSL/TLS encryption, SHA-1-based signatures for trusted root certificates are not a problem because TLS clients trust them by their identity rather than by the signature of their hash. We will be updating the certificates shortly to avoid Google’s warning. In the meantime you can rest assured that it is not a cause for concern.
